Our Club's Monthly Meeting Program
Thursday, May 8, 2025
Salem Center 50+
Demonstraotor:Bill Karow
Program Details: Bill will be sharing
a surface texturing technique and process he’s been experimenting
with and refining over the past year. He calls the technique erosion
texturing because it gives the piece the look of an ancient clay vessel
unearthed after years of decay. He uses it on a variety of wood species
at different stages of decomposition—ranging from solid to quite punky
and heavily spalted, leaning toward the more decayed side. He has found
it to be a unique way to transform wood that might otherwise end up in
the fire pit or yard waste bin.
